Land to Homes: Developing Affordable Housing in Austin

Austin is in a crisis for availability of affordable housing. The city’s Strategic Housing Blueprint has identified a city shortage of 60,000 units serving 80% AMI and below. The development of that housing is complicated and requires many layers of funding. Foundation Communities is one organization that has been providing housing for the past thirty years. From the site acquisition, to funding then on to design/construction and finally to operations, they oversee the entire process. The all women led team of professionals will address their roles in the process and the unique attributes of affordable and service enriched housing.
