After the February storm and power and water outages, twelve students from area universities and colleges showed their grit and made their presentations before a panel of judges, CREW Austin members and guests. First place winner was Genevieve Miller, a fourth-year student at the University of Texas at Austin, pursuing a Master in Professional Accounting, who received a $2,500 scholarship. Two students tied for second place scholarships of $1,500, Jennifer Marie-Calvo, a third-year student at the University of Texas at Austin, pursuing a Bachelor’s of Business Administration and Real Estate Certificate, and Swastika Sah, a third-year student at the University of Texas at Austin, pursuing a Bachelors in Finance and Real Estate Certificate. In addition to the scholarships, each of these young women, along with fellow students, Liliana Lopez and Daphne Alcala, will receive a complimentary student membership to CREW Austin for 2021.
